Pregnant woman beaten to death by live in partner, family seeks justice

Once you’re married, you’re already committed to your partner. You have promised to love and take good care of each other in sickness and in love. Although many were successful with their marriage life, we can’t deny the fact that others were not able to fulfill their promises.

Just like with the pregnant woman who died after allegedly flogged by her live-in partner after their argument in their condo in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. Before losing her life, she was said to be able to call her mother and was able to tell what happened. The victim was identified as Anna Galicia, 19-year-old and her her live-in partner Carl David Asejan.

Anna Galicia then acquired wounds in the body and in her head. According to GMA News, Anna was able to bring herself at the hospital even if she is full of blood all over her body. But she still lost her life in the midnight. It was then said that Anna was able to share to her brother about the flogging incident done to her by Asejan.

Ryan Galicia, Anna’s brother, is so much concerned of what his sister told him that her body hurts, her back hurts, and she can hardly breathe.

“Kuya masakit ‘yung katawan ko, mkit ‘yung likod ko. Nahihirapan akong huminga.”

According to Anna’s brother’s explanation, Anna denied to tell the truth at first but still eventually tell the truth that she is being hurt and flogged by her live-in partner.

“Oo kuya, sinasaktan ako.”

And that Anna then was able to share it with their mother that the reason why she was arguing with her partner it’s because she doesn’t want to go to work. Anna was a call center agent while Asejan have no any work. The victim’s brother is now asking the suspect to give up and pay for what he had done.

Senior Superintendent Dante Novicio, Chief of Police of Muntinlupa PNP said that they are having a follow-up operation on the issue. And that, Asejan can be arrested anytime if ever he won’t be arrested now. A case will be filed for him and that he will have a warrant of arrest.

“Patuloy pa rin ang follow-up operation. Pwede pa naman siyang arestuhin any time. Kung sakaling hindi siya mahuli ngayon, ma-fa-file-an siya ng reklamo at mahihintay natin na malabas ‘yung warrant of arrest.”

Homicide and intentional abortion are the cases filed against the suspect.
