A 23-year-old bank employee was allegedly raped and burned inside a garage of a towing company in Barangay Rosario, Pasig City.
On Friday night, November 10, the family of Mabel Tagala Cama, a bank employee reported her missing to the Pasig Police.
GMA News reported that Cama’s dead body was found on Sunday morning, November 12 inside a compound in Ortigas Avenue, Barangay Rosario, Pasig City.
Based on the autopsy report, the victim was burned. In an interview with GMA, P/Sr. Insp. Obet Garcia, the Chief of the investigation division of the Pasig Police said, “Kalahati ng katawan, sunog. At nakahubad ‘yung mga pang-itaas na damit.” (“Half of the body of the victim was burned and she no longer wears her upper garments.”) Garcia also added that the victim’s personal belongings were also missing.
Authorities say that they already established the motive behind the crime but could not give further details regarding the case.
However, the police are convinced that those who committed the crime were workers inside the impounding area where the body of the victim was found.
“Kung doon nangyari ‘yon at may nagsunog pa, maaari naman sigurong may alam sila kaya kung meron, tumulong po kayo sa amin sa pagresolba ng kasong ito,” (If the incident happened in the area and someone was burned, it is possible that the [workers] know something, if there is the police needs their help in resolving the case), Garcia said.
Meanwhile, Cama’s family who are still heartbroken because of what their daughter suffered from refused to give a statement.
