Last Saturday, June 3, the longest running ABS-CBN anthology drama series Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) featured the life story of Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach where she was being portrayed by Liza Soberano and the episode was received well by the audience and critics alike.
However, Pia’s half-brother Alex Wurtzbach and his mother Robie Asingua went to social media and accuse Pia of lying about her story.
Now, the show’s host Charo Santos-Concio did not hesitate to address the controversy surrounding the said story and has recently released her statement uring the media launch for Sun Life’s new collection of digital short films, where she was asked comment about the running controversy about the Pia Wurtzbach life story episode.
She briefly just answered this during the interview: “We talked to Pia. ‘MMK’ talked to Pia. That’s her story so we respect her story.”
Having said all that, Pia’s sister Sarah Wurtzbach had enough and fired back at Alexander and Robie and debunked all the accusations the mother and son duo has thrown at her beauty queen sister using her social media account.
According to PEP, Sarah said that their father Uwe Wurtzbach really did ask for money from Pia, but she wasn’t able to give due to her not winning the Binibining Pilipinas crown during that year of 2013.
She even had the guts to direct reply to Alexander’s Facebook post and said: “Teka.. kung hindi habol pera? Baka bitter nanay mo na hindi kami nagbigay? Get your facts straight!”
The issue seems to be kept on heating up as days go by.
