Foods and drinks you should avoid before going to sleep

Dr. Willie Ong is one of the doctors in the country who takes a different approach of consulting his patients and that is with the use of the internet. Whether it’s by posting a video on his YouTube Channel or his Facebook page Doc Willie Ong.

Now in his most recent Facebook post, Dr. Ong posted a list of things needed to be avoided before going to sleep to have a healthy and strong body.

Below is the list of the foods and activities Dr. Willie Ong said that needs to be avoided before having a snooze.

Eating Huge Amount of Meat (Cow, Pork, Fats)

Eating a huge amount of meat before going to sleep can cause stomach problems for it said to be tough to digest. However, if ever you really want to meat before sleeping, the content should be controlled to avoid stomach pains.

Eating Too Much

As the saying goes: “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a poor person,” this means that one should it less during dinner time.

Spicy Foods

According to Dr Ong, eating spicy foods at night time is not advisable for it can cause your stomach to feel funny and has a huge chance of not falling asleep.

Alcoholic Beverages

It is a known a fact that alcohol can help someone got to sleep. Despite of this being true, doing this can also give you a hangover the next day a very unfortunate thing to those who has to go to work in the morning.

Coffee/Energy Drinks

 

Both coffee and energy drinks are created to be a beverage to fight against sleepiness and that reason alone explains why it should be avoided when going to sleep.

It is always important to keep our body as well-oiled as possible and avoiding these foods and beverages before going to bed would surely help you accomplish this.
