Girl who kept asking for “financial” gift for her child gets a perfect response from Godmother

A godparent is somehow chosen by the parents of a child to help them mold their offspring into a better individual and also to be the one to take of a child should anything unpleasant happen to the parents. A male godparent is a godfather, and a female godparent is a godmother.

It has been repeatedly emphasized by the church that the main role of godparents should be to help in the personal development of a child especially in the religious aspect. However, this notion have been slowly declining through time and godparents are often chosen based on their economic and social status.

Just like what happened to this Godparent named Dyanne Jordan Montiero who posted her rather unpleasant experience with one of the parents of her Godchildren.

On her Facebook account, Dyanne posted screenshots of her conversation with the said parent who urged her to give her godchild a gift in cash and even insisted that she should give the money via a remittance center as the residence of the said godchild is far from her.

Here is how the conversation went:

Dyanne said on her post that she never once refused being a godmother and she sees to it that she reserves a small gift for all her grandchildren every Christmas. However, she insists that she should not be forced to give more than she can as the role of a Godparent is not limited to only the gift they can give.

She said that she knows the essence of Christmas is giving and loving but she knows her responsibility as a godparent and she does not need to be reminded repeatedly and even force her to give money.

The post instantly went viral as there are other godparents who can also relate to the story that Dyanne shared.
