Boracay is one of the famous tourist destinations in the Philippines. With its gorgeous beach that boasts on its cleanliness, various ocean-related activities that one can truly enjoy and delicious food that cater to almost any cuisine that one may crave, Boracay is truly a must visit place.
Because of the boom of tourism in Boracay, there are also a lot of resorts located on the Island. One of which is the Nami Private Villas Resort located at Sitio Diniwid, Balabag, Boracay.
One of the key features of the resort is its amazing location which is somehow elevated from the other resorts which gives their visitors an amazing view of the ocean.
However, a recent report stated that the Nami Private Villas Resort caught fire and is now in ashes. The report also stated that the total damages recorded after the fire amounted to PHP 20 Million.
According to Fire Officer 3, Franklin Arubang, the investigator in-charge of the Bureau of Fire Protection Boracay, the fire quickly escalated that it consumed several villas of the resort that are made of light materials and some part of the villas where the roofs are only made of cogon.
FO3 arubang also said that they had quite a hard time penetrating the area because their fire trucks found it hard to enter the road leading to the location of the resort. They even went to the other resort in order to enter the burning area of the Nami Private Villas.
According to the report shared by the Facebook page, Barangay RU 92.9, the fire was put out at around 12:53 AM. The fire officers are also still investigating as to what caused the fire.
