Athletes are known to be the best at the things they do and is ready to lay it all on the line not just because they want to win, but might as well they want to have fun. Either way, it is not too often that we get to see athletes bringing the Bible out on the court, although one NBA player did by putting a bible verse into his trademark shoe.
Stephen Curry made quite of a buzz when he decided to broke his deal with Nike, but it was all for a good cause. Upon his departure Curry partnered with UA and decided to incorporate his faith into his footwear so he could promote a powerful message instead of just another empty product.
If you look closely, you can see that there is something written in Steph’s kicks he wore during Game 1 against the Cleveland Cavaliers and it clearly says Romans 8:28. As many of you might already know, it is a verse from the bible that goes: “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
However, this was not the first time Curry has this put on his shoe line, for he is putting some bible verse every single year.
Although Curry is one of the best shooters in the history of NBA, he doesn’t take all the credit for all his success. “Obviously, there’s a lot of hoopla and fanfare that follows you wherever you go, but I know where my talent comes from… I know why I play the game, and it’s not to score 30 points a night, but it’s to use the stage I’m on. I’ve been put here for a specific purpose: to be a witness and to share my testimony as I go through it.” – Curry said.
Stephen Curry is undoubtedly one of the best players in the NBA today and not only that, but he is also a good role model to the youngsters due to his faith and unafraid to show it in public.
