Xander’s mom, Merly Arizala said that they lived in a different house before, but it was forfeited because they could not pay for it anymore especially that she lost her job when the company she worked in was closed. She later decided to work as a house helper and sell banana and camote cue to help provide the needs of his family.

Xander’s dad, Aniceto Mabanto also had difficulties paying for his tuition, which forced him to quit school.

The internet sensation’s sister, Chirly Izzy Mabanto also recalled the time she gave birth and how Xander went to a show despite being sick to pay for his hospital dues.

Netizens were touched by Xander’s story. Here are a few of their comments:

“Everyone should give him a chance.. too much hatred and envious . At least he’s trying to make his life positive”

“Simula nakita kong video na ‘to, naiyak ako. I don’t know why. For me ang pagiging ‘mayabang’ is just his ‘character.’ Kumbaga yun yung ini-image niya. I started to like him nah.”
